For those with older machines incapable of running any version of Windows (and consequently Windows-based browsers and email programs), Arachne WWW Browser is a nearly perfect solution. A completely graphical interface will let those with even an 8086 computer (with as little as 425K of RAM) access the World Wide Web with nearly all the features of Windows-based browsers, in a package a fraction of the size of those programs. A built-in PPP dialer will have you connected to your ISP in seconds, and the excellent browser will have you surfing the Web with ease. Integrated email lets you keep in contact with people, and the author plans to add support for Usenet newsgroups in the future. The entire program is chock full of useful features and could be used even by those capable of running Windows-based programs but who object to the large amount of disk space those programs can take.
